Files sent and Pledge Manager opening soon!

Hi all! We have some great news, the files have now all been sent to the manufacturer! We have been able to finalise the files and are happy with all the components. There will likely be a bit of back and forth making sure the files exactly match what the Whatz team require but once this is done they can begin preparation!
Before manufacturing begins, they will do some preparation including sending a blank sample and colour proof to make sure everything looks right. Once this is reviewed, then we can look towards manufacturing. In our timeline, we are hoping to receive the proofs in November so that manufacturing can potentially begin in December. Once we have some indications on dates when manufacturing can start, we will share them, but are still looking on track for our target of May 2026 fulfilment beginning.
Now the files are finished, we can look to open the pledge manager. We will aim to open the pledge manager on Backerkit in the next 1-2 weeks so please keep an eye out for any emails from them. The pledge manager will collect the shipping costs and any taxes plus it is key to collect your shipping address for when we are ready to ship out the game!
This also means we can start sending the print and play files out to the P&P backers. They will be included in the pledge manager so once the P&P pledges are completed, we will start sending out the files!
We will update again once the pledge manager opens just to remind everyone to complete it!

File preparation update

Hi all! Its already been a month since we last posted an update so wanted to share where we are in development. We have been hard at work preparing all the files which to be honest is the not very exciting bit! It includes things like barcodes, certifications and safety wordings which aren't the most fun parts but are certainly important!
Anyway, we are close to having all the files in order to send to Whatz. Pretty much we only have some last small changes to go through on the box. Probably the largest amount of work has been on the rulebook, making sure all the new cards are added and making some final checks including help from some fellow board gamers!
We have also made a slight change to the Ally card after some final playtesting of the extra cards. Previously some players had said there wasn't enough incentive to play this card as a house player, so after some further testing we have made it a meatier decision. Now, when the Ally card is played, if another house player takes the throne, they decide if they want to get an additional VP. If they do, the player/s who played Ally will get 2 VP! It makes it a really tough decision now and we are quite excited by it! Check it out below:
The outlook for the next few weeks is to finish the box and do some final quality checks to make sure we have everything right so we can send the files to Whatz by the end of October.
After this there will likely be some back and forth fixing any corrections on templates etc. Once we have the green light from them, we will share it with you all and give some further info on production timelines!
Once the files are finished, we will also crack on with the print and play files and again will hope to have these finalised for end of October so that we can send them out once the pledge manager is ready (assume end October/early November as an indication!)
We also have a small update on our events: During October we will be exhibiting at Ocean City Games Expo in Plymouth on the 25th October, which will likely be our last event in 2025. Looking forward to 2026, we have registered for Airecon in March and UKGE in May. Hopefully we have our places confirmed for these so we can once again attend these awesome events!
One final point - Once the pledge manager is ready we will send an update to everyone, but as an advanced warning for those who haven't backed on Kickstarter before, this will be how we manage the capturing of addresses so we know where to send the game once produced. It will also allow us to collect the shipping and taxes. We will be using Backerkit for this so if you see any email from Backerkit about Take the Throne, make sure to follow it so we can proceed with your pledge!

Preparation begins and new card revealed!

Hi all! It's been just over a week since we funded Take the Throne and we have been busy preparing the next steps towards manufacturing!
The main focus at the moment is getting things ready for manufacturing and setting up the pledge manager. We are planning to use Backerkit as the pledge manager and will hopefully be able to have the pre order option live in the coming weeks for anyone who wasn't able to back the Kickstarter campaign.
For everyone who did back us during Kickstarter, we will communicate when the pledge manager will be available to complete your pledges, expect this towards the end of the year.
A reminder of the timeline we are working towards. We are aiming to have all the files ready by the end of October to the manufacturers, Whatz.
As you can see below, we have made some progress already with the cards, tokens and meeple ready to be submitted. The next components will take a little longer as we need to do the less exciting things like registering a barcode and business address to complete the game box but we are on it and aiming to be on track for end October.
All the cards are now ready and that includes the last stretch goal, Chaos! Jozsef has done an awesome job with this one, check it out below!
Plenty for us to do over the coming weeks and we are keen to crack on! We will provide updates in the next few weeks when we have the files ready and the pledge manager ready!

Wow! The campaign has just finished and we reached a total of £5,200 which is awesome!
We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who backed the campaign! You have helped us bring the game from our personal idea to a real game! We are super excited to crack on with the next steps and get the game manufactured.
We hit all the stretch goals so will get all the additional cards added into the game, as well as the linen effect cards and box/VP token upgrade.
For now we just want to say a huge thank you to all who backed and everyone who has helped us along the way. We will provide an update with the next steps in the coming days and will aim to provide regular updates on how the manufacturing and fulfilment is progressing, as well as when the pledge manager will open etc.
Until then we are going to celebrate and hope you will join us in doing so!

The final 48 hours and a new stretch goal revealed!

This is it! It feels like it has come around quickly but we are heading into the last 48 hours of the campaign!
Yesterday we also hit the £4,500 mark which means we have hit the Entrap stretch goal!
As usual, this means we can reveal a new stretch goal - The next one is a card upgrade to linen effect on all the cards in the game and will be unlocked at the £5,000 mark!
