Hi all!
As we head into Christmas, we wanted to give a quick update and use the chance to wish everyone a happy Christmas!
Production update
Production has begun and Take the Throne is in the early stages of production - material prep and proofing. Once the game is on the production line, the guys at Whatz are going to send us some photos so we can share them with you! In terms of timing, we are still on track with the schedule of May 2026 to begin fulfilment.
Print & Play
After some initial issues with the print & play files, they are now available to all backers on the Deathtrap Games website. If you haven't accessed them already, check them out at https://www.deathtrapgames.co.uk/printandplay

Pledge Manager
As of today, we have 86% of people who have completed the pledge manager. There are only 27 people who haven't completed it yet. If you haven't completed it yet, please check your emails for an email from Backerkit. We will be following up individually with you as well in January.

Print & Play Files Take Two!

Hi all! After some issues with people accessing the print & play files, we have decided to simplify it and make them available on the Deathtrap Games website.
We originally planned to fulfill all the P&P files on Backerkit to keep everything in one place but we had two issues - there wasn't a way to split digital and physical items so physical backers would need to wait until the physical games are sent to receive the P&P files, and some backers experienced issues with accessing their files.
Therefore we have created a new page on the Deathtrap Games website where you can download the 2 files: Take the Throne P&P file and Take the throne Rulebook.

The production process has begun!

Hi all! We have some great news! Last week we were able to finalise the last few corrections and gave the green light to the Whatz team. This means the production process has now begun!
The Whatz team are proceeding with production and are expecting to finish around the end of January. We will keep you updated on the progress.
One point we wanted to notify of for the pledge manager, a few people have reached out about the P&P pledge. To clarify on when to expect the files:
For those who backed the specific Print & Play pledge by itself during the Kickstarter campaign (for £4) , as soon as you complete the pledge manager on Backerkit you will receive a link to download the digital files.
For anyone who backed a physical pledge and added on the Print & Play file during the pledge manager, unfortunately there isnt a way to separate the despatch of the physical and digital rewards. This means that the sending of digital files will only be possible when the physical games are despatched. We reached out to Backerkit and confirmed this is the case. Apologies for any confusion surrounding this!
Remember for those who havent completed the pledge manager on Backerkit, please do so when you have a chance!

Pledge manager and production update

Hi all!
Just a quick update on the pledge manager progress and how close we are to starting production..
Pledge Manager status
As of today, 78% of backers have completed the pledge manager. Thank you to everyone who has done it so far! For the remaining 22%, you will need to complete this prior to shipping of Take the Throne. Dont worry, there is plenty of time yet (we wont lock orders until January at the earliest) but its always good to lock things in! To complete your pledge, look out for the emails from Backerkit and follow the instructions.
Print & Play files
For Print & Play backers that have completed their pledge, we have sent out a digital download for the P&P files via Backerkit. If you havent received them or are having trouble downloading the files please reach out to us by email at [email protected]. For the P&P backers who havent completed the pledge manager yet, please head to Backerkit as you will receive the link to the files as soon as you complete your pledge!
Production
We are getting very close to giving the green light for production!
Last week we received the physical proof from Whatz Games. We have spotted a couple of last minute changes to make, which have been sent back to the Whatz team who are currently working on them! Hopefully this wont take too long and we can give the go ahead to proceed with production in the next couple of weeks! Once we do we will share in an update!

Fingers crossed the next update will be to confirm we have given the approval to move into production! For anyone who hasnt completed the pledge manager yet, please do so when you can, especially any print & play backers so you can get your P&P files!

Hi all! We have just hit the launch button on the pledge manager so you should all be receiving emails from Backerkit to begin collecting your pledges. Below we share some more information of what to do next.
How does it work?
For those who haven't used Backerkit before, it is the way we will be collecting the payment for shipping and taxes and capturing your shipping address so we know where to send the game!
Just follow the link in the email from Backerkit, enter your address details and payment information to complete the pledge manager. If you want to upgrade your pledge or add any additional items on as well, now is the time to do so!
Note that the pledge manager will remain open until we are close to shipping the final products and the payment of shipping and taxes wont be charged until then.
Print & Play backers
Once you have completed the pledge manager, we can begin sending out the P&P files by email. Due to the size these will likely be sent out using WeTransfer so keep an eye out for an email once we have received your completed pledge.
US backers
The costs for sending goods to the US has varied quite a bit over the last few months. We have set the costs at the guidance of our fulfilment partner and this is accurate as of today. We will continue to monitor the situation and if we need to change anything we will do so in the pledge manager and inform everyone, but at the moment the charges are accurate. With any luck we wont need to change anything and can continue as per the pledge manager today.

Production status
After sending all the files over to Whatz, they have created the pre production sample and it has recently left the factory. We should receive this in November and if it all looks ok, can confirm for them to begin production, hopefully in December. Once we hit this milestone and can share that production starts, we will do so!
